Tabellion Archival Description System

Archival description on the web

The Swedish general archive scheme and process based description in the same system.

Tabellion is a web based archival description system (arkivförteckningssystem) for Swedish municipal, regional, government and association archives. Describe your holdings, search them, export to NAD and print labels and inventory sheets – with no client installation.

The same records creator can have one archive following the general archive scheme up to 2015 and a process based one from 2016 – both are described, searched and exported the same way.

Please note: Tabellion is currently available in Swedish only. The product follows the Swedish archival model and the interface, documentation and product website are all in Swedish.

Looking for a new archival description system? Visual Arkiv is being retired in March 2027, and archives using it need both a new solution and a way to bring their descriptions along. Tabellion imports and exports EAD and EAC files according to the National Archives (Riksarkivet) delivery format, with a dry run that previews the import before anything is written.

Tabellion stores everything in Alfresco Community and is developed in Sweden by Loftux AB. It is currently available as a preview release, with the full version planned for late autumn 2026.
